Supersingers – The Age of Rock’s Vocal Royalty

There have been obvious golden throated frontmen and women in the age of rock-n-roll. Elvis and Robert Plant probably top most people’s lists, and rightly so. But there are some other names that might be lesser known, but are absolutely unbeatable in terms of rock vocals.

We start with the late, great Brad Delp. Having propelled the rock group, Boston, to 17 million in sales of their debut album alone, Delp’s astonishing vocal range and precision lines combined soul and swagger all at once. The obvious stand-out track here would be the seminal ‘More Than A Feeling’, which shows Delp not only covering a staggering range, but doing so with all the feel of a vintage soul supersinger Togel . Many vocalists to follow have managed to hit the notes, but comparatively few actually sing them. Even fewer sing them with the passion and soul that Brad Delp lent to four Boston albums and a handful of lesser-known releases, including the two RTZ albums. Losing Brad Delp was a truly huge hit for rock and pop music.

Following in the great supersinger tradition is the one-and-only Joseph Williams. Son of film composer, John Williams, Joseph fronted the 80s superband, Toto, for two albums in the late 80s and now has returned to the band for international tours. With jazz-tinged runs and a golden tone all his own, Joseph Williams standout work would have to be ‘Stop Loving You’, ‘Pamela’ and ‘A Thousand Years’ from Toto’s ‘The Seventh One’ album. With a handful of solo albums, work on Broadway and some monster team-ups with singers like Jason Scheff, Bill Champlin and Bobby Kimball, Williams’ supersinger lineage and work is second to none.

While many know this name associated with American Idol, there is a completely different Randy Jackson who fronts the mighty Zebra, out of New Orleans. Somewhere between Robert Plant and Geoff Tate, Jackson’s thirty-year career deserves much more attention than it typically receives, and his work on ‘Tell Me What You Want’, ‘Take Your Fingers From My Hair’ and ‘Who’s Behind the Door’ from Zebra’s debut album are gems that simply unbeatable in the vocal department.

For most people, the Japanese style bidet seat is still a novelty, something they’ve never before seen, and aren’t at all accustomed to. But for the Japanese, the bidet seat is commonplace.

The age of the high-tech toilet seat (also known as the “Washlet”, the brand name made famous by Toto) began in Japan in 1980 with the introduction of the first Washlet “G Series” seat by Toto, and since that time, the term “Washlet” has been used to describe all kinds of electronic, feature-rich toilet seats. The Japanese know they’re on to something – several years ago, almost half of all private homes in Japan were equipped with advanced toilets or toilet seats, exceeding the number of households with a computer!

Interestingly, the first toilet seat with integrated bidet functionality was produced in the United States even earlier than in Japan – in 1964. Despite the early introduction, most Americans are unaware of the technology, and those who learn about it are usually afraid of it, until they try it for the first time. Modern technology has resulted in huge price decreases in bidet seats, while continuing a trend of adding an assortment of very advanced features, making them more appealing then ever.

Those who experience the benefits of these seats are immediately drawn to them and usually begin the process of buying and installing these amazing devices in their washrooms. Honestly, once you start using one, you’ll never want to go back to old fashioned toilet paper. You’ll feel cleaner, smell cleaner, and be more comfortable all day long. And when you’re not home and are forced to use a standard toilet with toilet paper, you’ll miss home and your toilet seat more than ever.

Every day, Americans waste millions of gallons of water in their homes – from running faucets to half-full washing machines. In fact, the American Water Works Association states daily indoor per capita water use is a staggering 69.3 gallons. Whether your motivation is to diminish your environmental footprint and save precious resources or simply reduce your water bill, here are ten ways to practice effective water conservation in your home.

  1. Check for Leaks – Periodically check for leaks in faucets and pipes. Even a small leak from a worn, old faucet can waste up to 20 gallons a day and large leaks can waste far more.
  2. Insulate Water Pipes – Pre-slit foam pipe covers (found at most home improvement stores) are an inexpensive and easy way to insulate your water pipes. Doing so allows water to heat faster, so you’ll waste less water waiting for it to get hot.
  3. Don’t Leave the Water Leaving – Whether you are brushing your teeth or washing the dishes, don’t leave the faucet running; turn the water on only when you need to use it.
  4. Keep Drinking Water in the Fridge – Waiting for the tap water to turn cold is also wasteful so keep a pitcher or bottle of cold drinking water in the fridge.
